GKS Global Services menu of expert engineering services includes not only dimensional inspection and 3D laser scanning, but also long-range scanning, laser tracking, and computed tomography (CT), as well as product development and design, rapid prototyping, manufacturing services, and equipment rental.
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – GKS Global Services, an international provider of scanning services since 1981, announced that is has changed its name from GKS Inspection Services to reflect the broader scope and range of GKS’s service offerings and worldwide locations. Since its founding, GKS has been committed to tackling the most challenging metrology problems and is experienced in scores of industries and technologies. GKS operates offices in many major U.S. metro areas (Minneapolis, Detroit, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Charlotte, Seattle, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Niagara Falls, Toledo, and Morgantown, WV) and locations around the globe (India, China, Shanghai, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, and Europe).
To be competitive in today's global economy requires the ability to develop new products in a timely manner along with the ability to produce those products economically. GKS Global Services’ international locations and expanded services provide customers with a cost-effective, efficient way to outsource entire projects to a single, trusted company that can design, manufacture, and inspect the parts anywhere in the world.
GKS Global Services menu of expert engineering services includes not only dimensional inspection and 3D laser scanning, but also long-range scanning, laser tracking, and computed tomography (CT), as well as product development and design, rapid prototyping, manufacturing services, and equipment rental.
Long-range laser scanning is a ground-based high-speed technique for collecting high-density 3D data to create digital models of very large complex entities such as buildings and land formations. Long-range scanning can be used for reverse engineering CAD models from large as-built entities, site planning to install or retrofit equipment or other alterations, inspecting land- and water-based construction site progress, structural safety, etc., and urban renewal and planning to scan entire neighborhoods for renovation.
Another exciting large-scale scanning technique is GKS’s laser tracking which performs high-precision, large-volume, 3D spatial measurements and interprets the 3D shapes in any chosen coordinate system.
High-accuracy CT scanning can completely capture the complex internal geometry of parts without having to open them up mechanically. Visual access is not required for CT scanning so the process is very thorough and nondestructive. CT scanning is an ideal measurement method in many different industries for inspection of extremely complex parts and assemblies too difficult to measure with conventional touch probe or line-of-sight vision-based scanning technologies.
GKS Global Services can help companies design and develop products by integrating our mechanical and professional engineering and CAD modeling specialists seamlessly into their design team to create the most cost-effective product while maintaining the original design intent. In addition, GKS can provide an array of manufacturing services to complete the production cycle such as rapid prototyping and rapid manufacturing, inspection, mold-making, and even actual part production—everything from concept to reality. Outsourcing has never been easier or more productive than with the GKS one-stop approach for manufacturing and metrology services.
For the do-it-yourselfer with an occasional 3D scanning project, GKS Global Services also provides rental equipment to make every scanning project successful.
