Laser Design offers its 3D Laser Scanning Probes for your existing CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) as an option for full-time or part-time use. Our CMM Laser Probe kit does not require a retrofit. It works with any existing CMM (manual or DCC), any existing CMM motion controller, and any existing CMM software. It's almost as simple as adding a new touch probe. Your CMM configuration remains exactly the same and you can switch back and forth from our laser probe to regular touch probes in just a few minutes!

Our CMM laser scanning probe integrates to your CMM via a one-time connection to your CMM’s linear scale readout wiring. This interface is provided by Laser Design certified CMM technicians and will not interfere with your CMM’s current functions or operation. Your machine’s existing control system and joystick will be used in its current form to provide motion control and movement of Laser Design's CMM laser scanning probe over the parts being scanned. The laser scan data will be captured in our new, super high-performance computer running Laser Design’s Surveyor Scan Control (SSC) software and optional Geomagic data processing software for modeling and inspection.

For even greater functionality, retrofit your existing CMM with a DS-Series motion controller, enabling path planning and machine control with Laser Design’s Surveyor Scan Control software.
