MINNEAPOLIS, MN - Laser Design Inc. announced the immediate availability of its
CS-Series of high-accuracy, 3D laser scanning systems.
The CS-Series systems are specifically designed for Laser Design's
entry into the European marketplace and for any other customers requiring
the CE Mark of approval on their machinery.

Built in Italy by Laser Design's
manufacturing partner, the CS-Series is sold in the Euro currency and
meets all European safety and radio emission standards.
Support for the CS-Series is available worldwide through Laser
Design’s full-service distributor network.
According to Marty Schuster, President of Laser Design, "The
wide range of CS-Series models is one of our biggest strengths as we begin
competing for business in Europe. We
have systems ranging in size from 28” x
22” x 20” all the way up to a horizontal-arm system with a work
envelope of 118” x 39” x 47.”

Schuster
continued, "We are confident of success in the European marketplace
and have already added distributors in countries such as Italy, the
Netherlands, and Finland." Based
on a high-precision CMM machine base, the CS-Series is capable of
operating as a CMM simply by adding a touch probe option and CMM software.
The company feels that it is the most accurate 3D laser scanner of
its kind offered for sale in Europe.
Since
1987, Laser Design Inc. has been the leading supplier of ultra-precise,
laser scanning systems and services used for capturing the 3D shape of
objects with complex shapes and free-form surfaces.
Laser Design’s Surveyor automated 4 and 5-axis scanning systems
are ideal for 3D applications such as computer-aided verification,
discrete dimensional measurements, reverse engineering, rapid prototyping,
and manufacturing from scan data. The
company’s patented laser line-probe technology dramatically reduces
scanning time by collecting data substantially faster and more accurately
than conventional metrology technologies.
The 16-year-old company also operates an in-house Service Bureau
offering complete 3D scanning, modeling and inspection services.
