Laser Design
engineers are proficient in the use of 3D Laser Scanning Systems for
Reverse Engineering and Inspection. Utilizing the most advanced data
processing software combined with high end CAD/CAM systems such as CATIA,
PRO-E, SDRC and others, the Service Bureau develops high detail CAD models
from the scans of very complex or simple parts with a fast turnaround
process. The latest software for providing comparisons of the scan of a
part to its original CAD model is used for quick turnaround Inspection
Reports of any parts, tools or electrodes. The company also noted that it
can serve European customers from its service bureau affiliate in Italy
and Asian customers from its Korean service bureau.
Given the global nature of today’s manufacturing industry, Laser
Design feels it is uniquely positioned to offer its Service Bureau
capabilities on a worldwide basis.
Since
1987, Laser Design Inc. has been the leading supplier of ultra-precise,
laser scanning systems and services used for capturing the 3D shape of
objects with complex shapes and free-form surfaces.
Laser Design’s Surveyor automated 4 and 5-axis scanning systems
are ideal for 3D applications such as computer-aided verification,
discrete dimensional measurements, reverse engineering, rapid prototyping,
and manufacturing from scan data. The
company’s patented laser line-probe technology dramatically reduces
scanning time by collecting data substantially faster and more accurately
than conventional metrology technologies.
The 16-year-old company also operates an in-house Service Bureau
offering complete 3D scanning, modeling and inspection services.
