MINNEAPOLIS, MN - Laser Design Inc. announced it has signed distribution agreements
with both Geomagic and InnovMetric Software, the two leading
software companies specializing in 3D data processing software.
Laser Design believes that with these software partners, it is well
positioned to offer the industry’s most comprehensive 3D scanning
solutions.
Both lines of software work in conjunction with laser Design's
Surveyor Scan Control software and Surveyor scanning systems.

Geomagic is well known
for its Studio software program consisting of its Capture (scan data
alignment), Wrap (meshing and editing), and Shape (surface modeling)
modules. It also recently
added its Qualify program for comparing scan data to actual CAD models.
Geomagic software is famous for its ease-of-use, friendly
interface, and automated functions. It
has also customized its software for processing hearing aid impressions,
dental models, and other niche-market applications.

InnovMetric’s
PolyWorks software is also well known for its Modeler and Inspector
modules. Modeler consists of
a variety of modules to mesh and edit 3D scan data while Inspector
provides comprehensive Quality Control features and color error map
comparisons to CAD. PolyWorks
software is regarded for its industrial-strength capabilities in handling
the large point clouds generated from scanning automotive and aerospace
components.
Laser
Design Inc. is the leading manufacturer of ultra-precise, laser scanning
solutions used for capturing the 3D shape of any object with a complex
geometry. When combined
with post-processing software from its Solutions Partners, LDI’s
Surveyor scanning systems are ideal for 3D applications such as computer
aided verification, discrete dimensional measurements, reverse
engineering, rapid prototyping, and manufacturing.
The company’s patented laser line-sensor technology dramatically
reduces scanning time by collecting data substantially faster and more
accurately than is possible with conventional measuring technologies. The 15-year-old company is also the worldwide leader in
automated 4 and 5 axis scanning systems that minimize operator
involvement. For further
