Celebrate Independence Day by Supporting Injured Vets!
To honor and commemorate those serving our country, GKS is donating a percent of all revenue in July to the Wounded Warrior Project to help injured warriors returning home.
This important organization helps to honor and empower wounded warriors serving the United States of America by raising awareness, helping injured service members aid and serve each other and providing unique, direct programs to meet the needs of injured service members.

Engineering Scholarship Donations to Dunwoody
At Laser Design & GKS we aim to serve technical experts…namely you! We also strive to reach beyond the day-to-day business to serve the community, including our engineering’s future technical experts. This spring we supported students who are striving to earn their engineering degree, but need the financial help to fulfill their dreams.
A portion of every scanning project completed in the month of May was donated to a Dunwoody College of Technology scholarship program to an engineering student, with a high GPA who is in need financially.
Dunwoody is a technical college in Minneapolis, MN that was founded in 1914 and has trained more than 250,000 men and women for technical careers. It was named one of the top technical schools in the United States and is known for an extremely high placement of graduates upon completion of their studies. Additional companies in our industry including Carl Zeiss Metrology, who donated 2 CMM machines, support this learning institute and their students—we are happy to do the same!
Our Customers Helped Us Give 80 Toys to Toys for Tots!
We challenged our customers this month by offering to donate a toy to Toys for Tots for each GKS project completed in December. GKS Laser Design customers stepped up to the challenge in a big way.
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. - Winston Churchill
Toys for Tots is an organization that helps underprivileged children receive toys during the holidays. No one wants a child to be sad during the holiday season, and with financial times being so tough, there are more children than ever who are in need. There are state benefits available to help families with children with the basics of food and shelter, but holiday presents are not a part of those benefits.
We believe that no child should have to go without Christmas presents, and our customers agreed.
“I would have given GKS my project anyway, but I am really happy that I was able to do some good for some local children at the same time,” said Dave, a satisfied GKS client.
And whether these presents will go to a child on a reservation, a disabled or handicapped child, or even to children of parents who are just having a hard time financially, we couldn’t agree more.
